You may be aware that the 1953 batch has instituted an award for excellence in research and outstanding performance in technology for CETAA members. Padma Bhushan Dr. G. Madhavan Nair (1966 E), Chairman (ISRO) & Chairman, Space Commission and Secretary to Government of India, Department of Space has been selected to receive the award for the year 2005. He was supposed to receive this award during the last CETAA day on Nov 2005. But he could not receive the award on that day due to his preoccupation.
However, we had announced about this award to the members on the CETAA day and informed that it would be awarded to him on a colorful occasion in the college
subjected to Shri. Madhavan Nair's convenience. As part of the implementation of Energy Conservation Club projects in all colleges in Trivandrum district, it is planned to conduct a one day National workshop on Energy conservation and environmental protection on 10-2-2006 at College of Engineering, Trivandrum. Along with the concluding session of the workshop, at 3 PM, the first college level energy and environmental club in the district will be launched at College of Engineering, Trivandrum by Padma Bhushan Dr. G. Madhavan Nair, Chairman (ISRO) & Chairman, Space Commission and Secretary to Government of India, Department of Space.
It has been decided to award the best alumni award to Shri.G. Madhavan Nair in the concluding session of the workshop on 10-2-2006, 3 PM at CETAA hall, College of Engineering, Trivandrum. With great pleasure, I request your presence to grace the function.
